The WYATT! podcast does a deep dive into those timely and critical issues that impact Gay/SGL (Same-Gender-Loving) men with a diverse set of LGBTQ movers, shakers, and change agents. WYATT! is absorbing, informative, provocative–and sprinkled with sly, spicy (and sometimes a wee bit) scandalous humor!  The fast-growing podcast airs on both YouTube and Spotify.

The Saturday, March 18, installment of WYATT! welcomes Ernest White II, host and executive producer of Fly Brother (flybrother.net), the popular travel docu-series that airs on PBS and Create TV. The award-winning program also streams on PBS.org and Revry TV, the world’s leading LGBTQ+ streaming entertainment service.

Ernest and I open the show by discussing how travel helps broaden your perspectivesk him to comment on the following quote by Saint Augustine, the renowned theologian and prolific writer:

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.”

Some of his thoughtful response is as follows: “Oh, I do agree with the sentiment of the quote. Nowadays, with technology, we have ways of traveling without ever leaving home. We have the internet, technology, and virtual experiences. While it is beautiful that we can have these experiences virtually, it’s still important to actually be out in the world yourself.”

I ask the storyteller, explorer, and connector of people,” who was raised in Jacksonville, Florida, one of my most entertaining questions: “What was Ernest like as a little boy, a little nipper? Give us three characteristics that best describe you.” His answer is quite delightful!

Fast-forwarding to White II’s adulthood, we chat about his career as a journalist. Ernest has been featured in print and online media, including USA TodayEbony, Time Out LondonNational Geographic, and TravelChannel.com. He’s also the senior editor at Panorama: The Journal of Intelligent Travel and the founding editor of the digital men’s magazine Abernathy.

Next, we take to the friendly skies with Fly Brother, White II’s TV travel docu-series. The program is captivating, clever, and absorbing; the production values are on point! Fly Brother truly transports the viewer to that corner of the world featured, providing us with a rich experience.

According to the host and executive producer, television was not on his “to-do list;” he simply didn’t want to have anything to do with the medium. Why? Well, Ernest’s detailed response will make you LOL! He also shares what caused him to have a change of heart eventually.

The television personality has traveled worldwide, including Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Germany, and South Africa. I ask what locale has been nearest and dearest and impacted him the most—and why.

Ernest details how his “good southern upbringing of being polite, respectful, and speaking to people” has positively influenced his career, notably Fly Brother. His responses provide insight into the man that he is today.

White II is also the founder and CEO of Presidio Pictures, a new film, television, and digital media studio emphasizing the narratives of BIPOC (Black, indigenous, and people of color), LGBTQ+, and seniors/elders. We talk about the mission of this ambitious venture and current/upcoming projects.

Finally, we dissect the incomparable magic of travel. Ernest breaks it down for us, and magically!

This is another enlightening, invigorating, and eye-opening episode of WYATT! that you can’t afford to miss!

Simply put, WYATT! is “Eargasm For Tha Grown Folks!” And there ain’t no doubt about it! www.wyattevans.com/podcast
