Saturday, May 22.
That’s the date for the return engagement of WYATT! , the thought-provoking, captivating, and fast-growing podcast!
WYATT! does a deep dive into those timely and critical issues that impact Gay/SGL (Same-Gender-Loving) men, and features a diverse set of LGBTQ movers, shakers, and change agents who share their unique and compelling stories. WYATT!, which can be found on YouTube and Spotify, is sprinkled with sly, spicy (and sometimes salacious!) humor. Simply put, WYATT! is “Eargasm Fo’ Tha Grown Folks!”
The special guest for this episode is Dr. Robert Berkeley, founding editor of blkoutuk.com, the well-renowned non-profit social enterprise that mobilizes gay, bi, and trans men of African descent in the United Kingdom to work together to address shared challenges and create a podium for their voices. Dr. Berkeley is that bonafide, authentic change agent: an LGBTQ and social/racial justice advocate.
“Doc Rob” (the nickname with which I’ve playfully anointed him. LOL!) has some mad crazy time management skills! He’s a lecturer, documentary presenter/producer, and writer, with his bylines appearing in the prestigious publications the Guardian and the Independent. From 2009-2014, he served as director of the racial justice think-tank, Runnymeade Trust. Recently, he was appointed Simon Industrial Fellow at the University of Manchester.
As you can tell, Dr. Berkeley’s got a helluva lot on his dance card!
On this installment of WYATT!, Doc Rob and I will drill down on myriad issues, including the impetus behind and the necessity for the creation of BLACKOUTUK; the mission of the enterprise; specific or/and unique challenges that confront Gay Bi and Trans males of African Descent in the UK–and how BLACKOUTUK works to address them; how to effectuate positive change within the LGBTQ community; and the impact of COVID.
So Y’all, join us for absorbing, insightful…and entertaining talk!
And always ‘memba: WYATT! is “Eargasm For Tha Grown Folks!”
